Double posting it :)

I guess I'm tring to make up for lost time ;)

I've been trying to update my google websites with new bathroom pictures but it's not working out to well since they are moving everything over to google sites.... I love google pages (or is it the opposite?) Either way...I haven't been able to update my bio so here's an update on the bathroom.

List of things we need to do:

Touch up some paint spots
put up closet door
put up trim
repaint countertops
shorten tub spout
Chalk everything
&
enjoy!!!
6 small little things!!! :)
Here's the most recent picture:

I can't wait to be done!!! :)

Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas everyone!! Or whatever you celebrate!!! :) I know I haven't been a very good blogger lately but here's one to keep you busy until I get my new computer Dh's getting me for my birthday!! :)

Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree....

I love christmas soo much that I have two sets of Christmas tree ornaments :)

I have the set you see here: red and gold & a teal and silver set! I have only had the "blue" set since last year but I plan to alternate each year!! I love having 2 sets!! :)

Do you wrap presents and put them under the tree a.s.a.p or do you wait until just before Christmas?

As you can see...I wrap mine whenever! I'm sure that will change when we have our family one day, but for now...it's easier! Besides, I don't have to worry about Josh finding his presents! Althought...I forget what I got him....OOps!! :)

Here's last year tree: ( I took prettier pictures this year )

The 80yr old Grandma

Some chain emails are too funny to pass up:

This grandma is eighty-eight years old and still drives her own car.

She writes:
The other day I went up to our local Christian book store and saw a
'Honk if you love Jesus' bumper sticker ..

I was feeling particularly sassy that day because I had just come from a
thrilling choir performance, followed by a thunderous prayer meeting..

So, I bought the sticker and put it on my bumper.

Boy, am I glad I did; what an uplifting experience that followed.

I was stopped at a red light at a busy intersection, just lost in
thought about the Lord and how good he is, and I didn't notice that the
light had changed.

It is a good thing someone else loves Jesus because if he hadn't
honked, I'd never have noticed.

I found that lots of people love Jesus!

While I was sitting there, the guy behind started honking like crazy,
and then he leaned out of his window and screamed, 'For the love of
God!'

'Go! Go! Go! Jesus Christ, GO!'

What an exuberant cheerleader he was for Jesus!

Everyone started honking!

I just leaned out my window and started waving and smiling at all those
loving people.

I even honked my horn a few times to share in the love!

There must have been a man from Florida back there because I heard him
yelling something about a sunny beach.

I saw another guy waving in a funny way with only his middle finger
stuck up in the air.

I asked my young teenage grandson in the back seat what that meant.

He said it was probably a Hawaiian good luck sign or something.

Well, I have never met anyone from Hawaii , so I leaned out the window
and gave him the good luck sign right back.

My grandson burst out laughing.

Why even he was enjoying this religious experience!!

A couple of the people were so caught up in the joy of the moment that
they got out of their cars and started walking towards me.

I bet they wanted to pray or ask what church I attended, but this is
when I noticed the light had changed.

So, grinning, I waved at all my brothers and sisters, and drove on
through the intersection..

I noticed that I was the only car that got through the intersection
before the light changed again and felt kind of sad that I had to leave
them after all the love we had shared.

So I slowed the car down, leaned out the window and gave them all the
Hawaiian good luck sign one last time as I drove away. Praise the Lord
for such wonderful folks!!

Will write again soon,

Love, Grandma

Update on the Bathroom

Here's what we've been up to:

Down to the studs! We had to replace some of the studs due to damage or just sheer weirdness. Don't ask! You never know why people did what they did. I'm sure one day when *someone* ie. not us, redoes this bathroom again, they will find *SOMETHING* we did and say why the heck did they do this....Well, you just never know! We all have our reasons! ;)

Here is a more recent picture with the new drywall and greenboard up.

Yes, that is our shampoo and soap. We've been forced to take baths instead of showers for 2 weeks now. This will continue until I finish putting the tiles on the walls. Here is the back wall of the tub finished (minus grout).

So, what do you think?? So far...?

Mexican Friday! - TJC Nachos

TJC Nachos! Yummmy!

What you'll need:

Grocery List:

  • 1 lbs ground beef
  • Flour Tortillas 8"
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Queso Blanco cheese (optional but highly, highly recommended)
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Sour Cream
  • Taco seasoning
  • P.A.M.

Cumin is my newest favoritist (I know it's not a word) spice! If you don't have this in your pantry, I'd pick it up the next time your thinking about making ANYTHING mexican!

Brown the meat with mexican seasoning

Crisp up the tortillas with the P.A.M. spray on both sides

Add cheese and melt in microwave if needed & add your lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream & any extra cheese or toppings you want (onions?!) Sprinkle alittle cumin on top for taste and to make pretty. Serve! You may need a knife and fork! FYI! Enjoy!

The back of our house BEFORE:

Notice the small pine bush. It looks alittle dead at the bottom. Anyone know how to make it grown at the bottom again???

Started playing with the pavers we got from Menards for $ 0.33 each!

Now AFTER: (Please ignore the part were our dog decided to play in)

I'm hoping to have a hydranga bush put in at this corner soon.

I swear it doesn't look that curved in person...I'll be straighting that out a.s.a.p!

Please excuse the door mat on the patio railing and my tiki torches that need to be trashed!

We still need to do this side but you get the idea!

This is the spot Molly (our mini black lab) decided she wanted to play in. Gotta love the pets!

My roses -no bloom :(

All the pavers and mulch we still have to use in other places around the yard! It's about 1/2 of what I bought!

Josh trimmed the hedges into 4 seprate bushes instead of the 1 HUGE one. I wish we could take them all out! :) See my shadow???

This is in our front yard (right side) We were thinking about putting some pavers around it. I think it's going to be a mess to do, but will be worth it in the end!
The view from my front porch looking out:

Our back yard view from the right side of the house. Yet another shadow of me!
The hill I hope to one day cover in flowers and ivy (not poison ivy!)

A bush my mom bought me (sits up on the level part of the privacy hill)
